su53 sent a team to the GRC 2008 in Orlando, March 10th – 13th to meet others and to find out the latest developments in the world of GRC. An immediate summary of each day is included here and over the next week we will be publishing analyses of the entire event, the key messages we’re picking up on, and giving details of how to contact us to find out more.
Despite the exhibition being closed, most of the 5,000 delegates still seem to be here, still learning and attending sessions and the SAP Labs demos – though the proportion sitting around the lake and pools in the sunshine has definitely increased! Our attempt to relax last night changed to a late night with UK based colleagues from SAP GRC, with increasing energy and stretching visions until the last bar closed in the early hours of the morning. It was interesting to spend time seeing how SAP positions itself, how it sees su53, and what the future may hold.
One of the companies we met today was Security Weaver, a rapid deployment SoD/Super User Access Control tool gaining share in defined markets very quickly. Their solution might be appropriate for some of our smaller clients, or for those wanting a fast assessment of the scale of their SoD issues prior to a full strategic implementation of GRC.
We attended the session on Super user access and were interested in the approach. We will be updating our Firefighter Accelerator with some additional thinking and have some innovative thoughts on how to help our customers get better results by closer engagement with process owners and data custodians. We anticipate this enhanced process will be available by 01/04/08. |
