What is SAP GRC GTS?

SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) is focused on better managing your supply chain. It helps you:

  • Stay compliant with export / import regulations
  • Manage customs documentation
  • Manage costs of fines and duties associated with international trade.

There's also an application Nota Fiscal Electronica, but it’s specific to Brasilian regulations regarding invoices.

What is the version roadmap?

The current release is 7.2. Version 8.0 is expected to be released in mid 2009. In 2010 the GRC suite release will enable more integration with the rest of the GRC suite.

What are the new features in version 8.0?

  • Significantly the AEO (authorized economic operator) and C-TPAT – Risk Management and GTS integration to support impending EU regulations. Benefit: accelerated customs clearance for companies that demonstrate compliance
  • Use of Business Objects (BOBJ) tools to support Trade Analytics – identify opportunities to optimize trade network and measure performance against industry benchmarks
  • Inward processing relief allows customers to reclaim duties by tracking imported components through production to export of finished goods.
  • Additional certified customs interfaces in key markets
